“Pro-choice activists aren’t giving up hope to pass an abortion-rights bill this session after a Senate committee struck it down on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, leaving pro-lifers cheering.” (WJAR)
Raptakis said women who want to get an abortion in Rhode Island can still do so. He doesn't think there's any urgency to pass the bill. “If there's a fear with the Supreme Court happening, we've got time,” said Raptakis. “We're coming back in six months.” See the full coverage at: WJAR

We’ve had another great victory in Rhode Island for Senate District 33 and it means I will continue to keep fighting for my constituents and being a strong voice to promote our issues statewide, regionally, and nationally.
It’s an honor to one again serve the people of my district, to bring a small business owner’s perspective to the State House, striving to create a strong climate for economic growth and entrepreneurial activity. Fighting for open, honest, and transparent government is never easy, as entrenched special interests don’t like to have the system challenged when they can get what they want making backroom deals and operating in the shadows. That’s why your support has made a world of difference and I look forward to continuing to get things done and make a difference in the new legislative session. Thank you for your friendship and for once again helping to make this important victory possible. Sincerely, Lou Raptakis By: Ballotpedia - The Encyclopedia of American Politics
“What they’ve done is they’ve just opened up this whole issue to a third party and a third party took advantage of a loophole," said Sen. Lou Raptakis, a Democrat that represents District 33. Raptakis was forwarded the flyer from one of his constituents. He said he wouldn't campaign that way, and the whole idea of it is just plain wrong. “Politics has no place in public education," he said. Read more at: NBC 10 RI.
Raptakis says he’s noticed several of his campaign signs have gone missing, which led him to do some digging. Two separate incidents, caught on camera, show Copley removing Raptakis' campaign signs at two different gas stations: A Sunoco Gas Station off of Exit 6 and a Mobile Gas Station off of exit 7 on I-95 South in West Greenwich..."
