Senator Lou Raptakis
In 1992, Lou was elected to the House of Representatives, where he served for two terms, establishing himself as a champion of good government. As a freshman legislator, he took on the House leadership, blowing the whistle on a taxpayer funded incentive bonus scheme that was benefiting well connected court clerks. At the same time, Lou fought for reforms to the state pension system to reduce expenses to taxpayers and bring a degree of stability and fairness to the system.
